Our Teachers
Meet the Teachers of Palmdale School of Music’s Music Together®!
Our teachers come from all sorts of backgrounds, but they're united by a common passion: Sharing the joy of music with children and families in the Antelope Valley!
All teachers have successfully completed the live Music Together Teacher Training, which is built on research in early childhood and music development. We keep our skills fresh through workshops every semester and advanced training's offered by Music Together Worldwide.
Center Co-Director Kathryn Conrad
Kathryn has a degree in Music Therapy and has been an active church musician as a singer, accompanist, choir director or program director for over 45 years. She has been a voice and piano teacher for over 40 years. She has taught private students as young as 4 years old and strongly believes that all children benefit from early exposure to quality music training. She has home schooled her 5 daughters through 12 years of primary education.
Center Co-Director Jim Conrad
Jim has recently retired as a Systems Engineer Senior Staff from the Lockheed Skunk Works where he was the principal navigation engineer for the U-2 program. He is currently a 4H leader, teaching various skills to children. He has been the primary math and science teachers for his daughters in their high school courses. Jim has been singing in church choirs for over 60 years and at times has played the tuba and the guitar.
